Hand made
furniture stems from the time when even the most every day objects, from
a
fountain pen to a fine bone china teacup, were made to please as well as to
perform,
giving enjoyment every time they were used. Things of
beauty that are a delight to use
will be cherished and similarly, Scottwood
furniture will give a lifetime's pleasure and still
be appreciated in years to
come by future generations.

Thinking of
tomorrow's generation, Scottwood furniture is crafted from fine quality timbers
grown only in responsibly managed replenished forests.
Every Scottwood kitchen, bedroom or bathroom is bespoke and
therefore, quite simply, unique. As unique as we believe Scottwood service to
be. Every client receives our undivided attention. We listen and note with
meticulous care, to the individual requirements of each project and by so doing
ensure that we understand and fulfil our customer's needs exactly.
Each project begins with an initial consultation and is
followed by a home survey.
Clients are invited to make their choice from the Scottwood
portfolio which includes furniture styles influenced by the elegant classical
designs from the reign of George III, the simple understatement of American
'Shaker' furniture and the colour, wit and vitality of interior design in the
1950's.
Plan drawings and artists sketches are drawn up detailing the
proposed style, finish and decoration of each piece of furniture. (At this
stage, clients may wish to provide wall, floor or upholstery samples which would
assist in the selection of the range and colour finish to be used).
The project
is passed to Scottwood's workshops in the heart of Sherwood, one of Europe's
most ancient surviving forests. With uncommon skill, our craftsmen faithfully
interpret the working drawings using a combination of traditional and modern
woodworking techniques ('dovetail' joints are still very much in evidence at
Scottwood).
Installation and hand painting (where appropriate) are undertaken only by
authorised Scottwood specialists to ensure perfect fit and superior quality
workmanship.
Perhaps
the key to Scottwood's enduring success is that we take as much pleasure and
pride in the finished results, as our many valued clients who could pay us no
finer compliment, than to allow our furniture into their homes.
